What is 3D printing?

3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing and the process of printing we use is called fused deposition model (FDM). FDM printing typically uses types of thermoplastic filament like PLA, ABS, PETG etc. There is a hot end the plastic is pushed into, and this is then melted through the nozzle being printed layer by layer. Most models are typically printed with what’s called an infill as most models are typically not printed solid.

What is infill?

Infill is the amount, or percentage, of the model that is solid. A typical infill percentage is between 10-20%. There is a multitude of different styles that allow for stronger prints when needed.

What do I need for a

3D print?

There is several options to get a file for 3D printing.

1. Have a sample or a sketch with information for us to model it.

2. Use websites to find a file:

3. Create your own model and send us a STL file
